YOUNG people across the area enjoyed taking part in events for Children in Need.

At Copplestone the Church Youth and “not-so-young” helpers washed more than 30 cars in the Church car park to raise funds.

In the Church Community Room, the café served lots of hot drinks (hot chocolate a favourite), with bacon butties and a wonderful array of homemade cakes.

Children could enjoy some Pudsey themed activities and a “Toy and Togs” giveaway was open for parents to browse and pick up free items of clothing and toys for their children.

Organiser Suzanne Lunn, said: “Thank you to everyone who washed cars, baked cakes, cooked bacon butties, made drinks and generally helped out and to all those who supported this community event which raised an amazing £710 for Children in Need.”

At Yeoford the School Council made homemade cakes and lemonade to sell at morning break.

The children dressed in yellow and spots and made £100.30 for Children in Need.
