A REGULAR Menopause and Perimenopause group has recently begun in Crediton, at The Lady Mills Centre, on Deep Lane.
The group, which is free, informal, and volunteer-led, is being run twice a month, after recognising that there is a need for greater information sharing and conversation about the topic within the Mid Devon area.
Jo Overton-Pitts, the Volunteer facilitating the new group, said: "This is a great opportunity for people of all ages; to learn more about menopause and perimenopause, and to be able to share information, experiences, and supportive strategies that will benefit other people in the community who are feeling the impact of menopause and perimenopause."
The new group is called “Coffee and Conversation: Chatting About Menopause and Perimenopause” and will take place on the last Monday, and Friday, of the month.
In order to try and reach as many people as possible the Monday session will take place in the evening, and the Friday session will take place in the afternoon. Mindful of the current Cost of Living challenges, these sessions are offered free-of-charge to ensure that cost is not a barrier to accessing helpful information and meaningful conversations.
A Closed Facebook Group called Crediton Menopause Group has also been started to run alongside the in-person sessions which people local to Crediton can also join if they would like further information.
The first session was held on Monday, September 25 and the next will be tomorrow, Friday, September 29.
The Friday session will run from 3pm to 4.30pm at The Lady Mills Centre.
