MOTORBIKE enthusiasts who took part in a 100-mile Charity Trail Ride around Mid Devon have raised £1,300 for Devon Air Ambulance.

This was the third such ride organised by Gavin Brimacombe of Devon Trail Riding Tours of Spreyton.

The riders gathered at Crediton Rugby Club, departing in groups of about six or seven, about 40 taking part in total.

The route mainly used green lanes and included Sandford, Morebath, Pennymoor, Tiverton, Exbourne, Bickleigh and Cullompton before returning to Crediton.

Each group had its own leader, the riders mainly from the local area, the furthest from Yeovil.

The first such Christmas Charity Ride was held in aid of FORCE and the second, like this, the third, was for Devon Air Ambulance.

Vicky Brimacombe said afterwards: "Thanks to everyone who has donated for our Charity Trail Ride around Mid Devon.  We have raised £1,300 for Devon Air Ambulance.

"Thanks to Crediton RFC for the use of the car park.
