The opening hours to Phoenix House, Tiverton have now changed for visits in person.
Customers can still access many of the services, provided by Mid Devon District Council (MDDC) online, 24-hours-a-day but the hours for face-to-face appointments will change to a morning only service.
The telephone line and email service remains unchanged.
Jill May, Director of Corporate Affairs and Business Transformation, said: “The Council has remained fully operational and open for business throughout the Coronavirus pandemic but the way the public access our services has also changed and we must adapt to that.
“We know some people prefer to interact online, at a time to suit them, but we also recognise some of our community wish to speak to someone in person.
“By ensuring we have a number of ways to contact us we hope we are supporting everyone who needs to get in touch with us.”
While the Council continues to encourage those staff who can work from home to do so, more than 60 per cent of staff are at their usual place of work.
Of those who continue to work from home it is important the public know that everyone is contactable and all of the council’s services are operating.
Jill May added: “We have to balance protecting our staff and indeed ensuring we have a resilient work force who can deliver services, with providing a simple and effective way for the public to get in contact with us.
“We are doing that and the message is clear, we are here and we are open for business as usual.”
