CASTLE Drogo, the National Trust property near Drewsteignton, has been successfully shortlisted for Museums at Night for the second time in three years and the race is now on to win artist Peter Liversidge to host the after-hours event in October 2016.

Peter Liversidge is a British contemporary artist who has exhibited in the Tate Liverpool and the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. He is most notable for his use of proposals, written on a manual typewriter.

The Castle Drogo team loved the link between Peter’s approach and the idea that the original idea for Castle Drogo may have started as a proposal on paper in the 1900s.

If successful in the public vote, the Castle Drogo team and local art students, with Peter’s help, will invite the local community to experience Castle Drogo as never before. Through after-dark torch-lit tours they will explore how architect Edwin Lutyens made one man’s dream of a castle on Dartmoor a reality.

Castle Drogo needs as many votes as possible to win Peter in the public vote. Voting closes at 5pm on Friday, May 13. To vote please visit the Museums at Night website: http://bit.ly/1MWnr91 .
