The event was a huge success last year and the Band is building on that success.
This year there will be printed carol sheets to share on the evening.
Local choirs have also been invited to attend and it is hoped that there will be some four-part harmony singing.
Dedicated standing areas will be marked for members of the public and each different choir as well as the Town Band.
There will be a sound system during the evening to ensure everyone can hear what is going on.
The band has chosen to support the charity Age Concern Crediton this year.
John Musty, spokesman for Age Concern Crediton, said: “Age Concern Crediton is delighted to be the chosen charity for Crediton Community Carols in the Square.
“We support many elderly people in the Crediton area and we hope that they and our supporters as well as members of the public will support the evening and that people will be generous in making a donation if they are able.”
Mr Musty said that many elderly people enjoy a day out at the Age Concern Centre in Deep Lane with company, fun and good food, making a big difference in restoring the spirits of those who might otherwise find their days long and lonely.
He added that Age Concern Crediton also offers a befriending session in the home, as well as light domestic assistance.
“As much of our work relies on the efforts of volunteers and external funding, we are thankful to the band for thinking of us by sharing the proceeds from the Carol Singing evening.”
The Crediton Community Carol Sing in Crediton’s Town Square is a chance for the community to join together to celebrate Christmas and promote a festive spirit within the community.
The Christmas in Crediton Committee tree and lights will be in place for the event.
