BOW Community Primary School held its first whole school Art Exhibition on Thursday, December 1.

Each class was taught by a specialist art teacher and this term their focus was painting and colour.

All the children in the school have a sketchbook which they use to practice their skills and ideas.

At the end of the project, each child produced a final piece which was inspired by an artist linked to their class topic.

EYFS/Year 1 studied the artist Picasso – in particular his abstract faces which linked to their "All About Me" topic and Year 5/6 studied William Turner and Katsushika Hokusai linked to their topic, "Mountains".

The school said that the exhibition was a fantastic celebration of the children's art work and was attended by parents and members of the local community.

The school is to continue to hold these art exhibitions - the next one will be linked to sculpture.
