EMERGENCY services from across the county rushed to Black Dog near Crediton, earlier today, Wednesday, May 29, after a report that two men had entered a property and assaulted the occupants with a possible bladed weapon and a chemical substance. ?Police were called to attend at 11.30am and the men were reported to have left the scene in a car parked nearby.

Armed police, four fire crews, ambulance crews and paramedics, police crews and specialist units attended the scene.?Two women were taken to hospital with serious injuries, where they remain at this time.

A young child was also taken to hospital but is not believed to be injured. ?Police enquiries remain ongoing at this time. ?Anyone who witnessed the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log 294 of 29/5/19.

Roads in the Black Dog area of Crediton were closed to traffic during the incident.
