ST Matthew's Parish Church in Cheriton Fitzpaine held a weekend art and craft show recently.

It featured local craftsmen, displays of lace-making, soft toys, needlework, knitting and flower arranging.

Artist Jenny Cave had some pictures on sale, together with information about the art of etching.

Occupying an aisle of the church were Hazel and Andy Norton's plants, which sold very well.

Refreshments were served throughout and there was a brisk trade in cream teas.

The exhibition was organized by churchwardens Alice May and Hazel Norton with the help of many church members, and raised £2,854 for church funds.

There will not be a coffee morning at the end of this month, but this popular event returns on Saturday, June 29 from 10am to 12pm.

The Craft and Care Group meets on the first and third Wednesdays at 2.30pm in the Parish Stall. It also fills shoeboxes for Ukraine and Moldova.
