THE residents of a Crediton care home enjoyed a pre-Christmas treat, a visit by five Alpacas from Woolley Animals, run by Cath and Stuart Woolley of Farm Park, Winkleigh.
The visit had been arranged by Annie Rogers, the Wellbeing Co-Ordinator at Hillbrow Care Home, who described it as a "Christmas Treat" for the residents.
Everyone was able to pet the alpacas which ranged in age from six months to a few years old.
The alpacas were very tame and visited clients in the day room as well as those in private rooms.
To visit those in rooms, the alpacas were able to climb stairs or use a lift.
Stuart answered many questions about the alpacas and not only the residents but also the staff thoroughly enjoyed meeting the alpacas.
Among those who visited were Rufus, Griffin, Duke, Gerry and D'Artagnan.
Cath explained that she and Stuart take the alpacas to many events and residential homes and that they also take bookings from people who want to take alpacas for walks on the farm.
Annie added that it had been incredibly busy at the family-run home in the run-up to Christmas with a visit from Santa, a party, visit by musicians, a pantomime rehearsal and visit by Crediton Town Band.
