APRIL has arrived and spring has sprung at Bernaville Nurseries.

Longer days, warmer weather and early flowers blooming means only one thing…the garden needs some attention!

Here are some jobs that you can be getting on with this month:

If you haven’t already given your greenhouse a spring clean now is the time to do it.

Doing so will ensure you’ve gotten rid of any pests and diseases for the season ahead.

Once the greenhouse is looking clean and tidy you can then sow your fruit and vegetable seeds.

Start to prepare your vegetable beds by digging over and add a fertiliser such as farmyard manure or chicken pellets to make sure that your vegetables get a good start.

Although we are having sunny days, please remember to protect your tender plants from any evening and early morning frost by using fleece.

Don’t forget the lawn will also need some attention at this time of year.

Bernaville Nurseries, at Cowley, recommend using a lawn food with added weed and moss control to prepare your lawn ready to reseed or turf.

Get well prepared now to make sure you have a fruitful season!

Complete the Easter Trail at Bernaville Nurseries for some Easter fun.

Find the Easter egg signs hidden around the nursery.

Activity sheets are available from the information desk and can be returned there once completed.

Children will receive a bag of marshmallows and a sticker for completing the trail.

The trail will run from Monday, April 11 to Friday, April 22 from 10am to 4pm.
