THE Best Dressed Shop Window in Crediton this Christmas in the “Crediton Courier” competition, was the window display created by Adams Home Hardware.
The display is impressive with lovely window displays featuring many of the shop’s products, this year with an even brighter interior light display.
Outside there are reindeer on a roof with lovely icicle lights.
It was the public who voted for the best shop or business window displays, “Crediton Courier” readers having returned the voting forms.
The Rosebowl for the Best Dressed Window was presented by Alan Quick, Editorial Manager at the “Crediton Courier”.
Adams Home Hardware was presented with a bumper hamper by competition sponsor, Morrisons of Crediton, the hamper presented by the Crediton store Community Champion, Hazel Evely.
It is the first time that Adams Home Hardware has ever won the top prize in the annual competition.
Second prize went to the window display created by Clair Mann at Bedford and Co.
It features a black outline of the nativity scene made from cardboard boxes painted black but with lights around the outline.
It creates a lovely scene.
The window display at A E Lee (Outfitters) was placed third.
Second and third place winners received prizes sponsored by the Crediton Courier.
Certificates were presented to all of the businesses with the best windows and prizes.
Competition co-ordinator, Alan Quick, editor of the Crediton Courier, said: “I am really pleased that the Best Dressed Shop or Business Window competition in Crediton remains hotly contested and that our readers are pleased to take the time to vote for their favourite.
“The windows really help to make the town look more festive each year and I cannot thank enough those who make the effort each year to create some fantastic displays.”
