BARRY and Denise Shears have taken the difficult decision to retire from the ownership of Hillbrow Residential Care Home Ltd in Crediton after 22 years of service to the community.
The business has been acquired by Nicy Sebastian and Tintu Tojo who took over on April 10.
Announcements were made to all staff, residents and families on the day following completion.
Barry and Denise said that whilst they were sad to leave they felt that the time was right.
Their daughter, Joanna as fellow director, has been very capably working with the team since 2014 and she has also taken the decision to leave the business. With the experience gained she will be looking to take advantage of new job opportunities.
They will be leaving behind a fantastic team of skilled, caring and well-trained carers, housekeepers, kitchen staff, activities organiser, administrator and Care Manager, Sylvia Sandercock.
The entire team has been the major contributor to the excellent reputation and happy atmosphere that Hillbrow enjoys.
Hillbrow has been fortunate to have found Nicy Sebastian, an advanced practice nurse working for the NHS, and Tintu Tojo, an experienced IT specialist, both of whom Barry and Denise feel will bring the right mix of talent to take the Home forward.
They come full of the enthusiasm and experience needed to ensure that the Home is prepared for the challenges of the future.
Barry and Denise said: “We hope that you will welcome them and give them the same support we have been given as they face the challenge of taking on the care of those in our charge.
“We wish them every success for the future.”
