MOLE Avon has now completed the process of building a new £5.2 million store at Joseph Locke Way, Wellparks, near the Crediton Tesco store, and ahead of the store opening for trade on September 15 and 16 and a formal opening ceremony scheduled for October, a founding director of the company and other senior directors and guests were given a behind-the-scenes tour.
Tom Turner (93), from Crediton, was one of the founding directors of Mole Avon and he described the new store as “fantastic”.
He was joined by other past directors Gerald Light and Pat Tonkin, former executive director. Tom was also joined by John Hodge a current director from Okehampton.
The new store will incorporate retail selling space, plus warehouse and support office facilities in the 30,000 square feet country store located on a 3.5 acre site.
The new store will incorporate a range of dedicated sections including clothing, farm shop, homeware, home and gifts, agricultural, footwear, equestrian, pet and bedding, animal medicines, a cafe and small garden centre and much more.
The company has been on its Mill Street site since the early 1970’s and has been eager to move to a suitable local site that enables it to serve its traditional farmer base alongside the wider community. The business will trade as normal from the Mill Street location until the new store is completed.
The public is invited to attend a fun-filled weekend at the new store on Saturday and Sunday, September 15 and 16.
Each day there will be a chance to visit the store, where there will be exclusive offers.
Other events and activities will be face painting, balloons, deckchair, selfie frame, sweets, stickers and much more.
