THERE have been a number of thefts from farms and in rural locations in Devon during the last week.
The most recent in Chulmleigh, overnight of September 29, saw seen the victim returning to his field to discover items had been removed from buildings and left out in anticipation of the individuals returning to collect.
A trailer was also stolen from a property in Umberleigh on the same evening.
There was also a theft from Hittisleigh and gardening equipment from the Colebrooke/Bow area.
A police spokesperson said that whilst these may not be linked it is useful to remind everyone that with evenings becoming darker and colder and the change in weather that individuals may use these reasons to mask their tracks and commit offences.
They added: “If you see anything suspicious or alarming make contact with ourselves on either 101 or 999 (if a crime is in progress) and we will see how we can help.
