CREDITON Police have closed the road from East Street into Mill Street following a two-car collision near the junction at Mill Street at about 9am this morning, Wednesday, August 16.

An ambulance attended to administer first aid at the scene.

It is believed that one or more people may have been taken to hospital.

Both vehicles involved are badly damaged and there is a considerable amount of fuel and oil across the road.

Devon County Council have attended and put down sand to soak up the fuel and oil.

One carriageway of Mill Street is passable with care.

Police remain at the scene and recovery of the vehicles is expected.

Motorists are advised to seek an alternative route.
