THE Neighbourhood Beat Manager for Crediton has issued a warning to the public to be vigilant following burglaries in the Crediton area.
Police Constable Dan Armitage warns: “Following a recent spate of burglaries in the Crediton area over the last few weeks, please be vigilant and security conscious.
“Offenders have been using different ways of accessing properties - some have been easily accessed due to door and windows being left open / unlocked.
“Offenders have been seeking to take vehicles (usually high performance in model) or high value property like jewellery.
“All incidents have occurred either whilst the household were away or during the early hours of the morning whilst still dark.
“Remember to keep you property secure.
“CCTV or doorbell cameras can act as a deterrent in some cases and will help provide evidence to police should there be an incident.
“If you see any persons or vehicles in your area, please contact police 101 or online - a vehicle registration and description is always really helpful.”
