DEVON and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service control centre received calls from members of the public reporting a lot of smoke in the Bradninch area, the first call received at 1.24am on Saturday, February 25.
On investigating, it was found to be a property alight.
Three fire engines and a support officer were sent to the location.
On arrival, crews confirmed this to be a garage fire, which was attached to two domestic dwellings, well alight.
Crews got to work with two sets of breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and one covering jet.
Crews requested the attendance of a fourth fire engine, as breathing apparatus was increased to four wearers and crews increased to two hose reel jets, two safety jets and two thermal imaging cameras.
The Officer in Charge then requested a further two fire engines to attend, taking the total to six.
Fire crews attended from Danes Castle and Middlemoor in Exeter, Cullompton, Honiton and Tiverton.
This was a garage fire, measuring approximately five metres by 10 metres which was attached to domestic properties.
The garage was completely destroyed by fire and neighbouring properties sustained approximately 25 per cent smoke damage.
The fire was extinguished using six sets of breathing apparatus wearers, four hose reel jets, three covering jets, small tools, short extension ladders and thermal imaging cameras.
The cause of the fire was unknown.
