A FIRE has severely damaged a property in Tiverton.

The fire service received a telephone call reporting smoke coming from the back of the building just before 10.30pm on Sunday, November 17.

Three fire engines from Bampton and Tiverton fire stations were immediately sent to the scene.

When they arrived, they found smoke coming from the property and began tackling the blaze with breathing apparatus and hose reel jets.

The fire crews extinguished the fire and confirmed everyone was accounted for with nobody inside the building.

The property was left 50 per cent damaged by fire but 100 per cent damaged by smoke.

The fire service is still investigating the cause of the blaze.
