CREDITON firefighters were called out after a rag tangled around the exhaust pipe of a vehicle on the A377 caught fire on Thursday, December 12.

Fire control received a report of a vehicle on fire on the road at around 10.45am and sent a crew from Crediton fire station to the scene.

The blaze was already out when they got there, however, and the vehicle was not damaged.
