CREDITON firefighters were called to attend a car fire near Crediton Railway Station at 7.27am this morning, Monday, February 27.

The fire had spread to a second vehicle but crews managed to extinguish the fire using breathing apparatus and compressed air foam.

One car, a VW Beetle, was completely destroyed by the fire and the adjacent vehicle sustained damage.

Crews remained on scene while they monitored the temperature of the vehicles involved.
