A BREAK-IN occurred at the Boots Pharmacy at 126 High Street in Crediton overnight last night, Sunday, February 2 or early hours of this morning, Monday, February 3.

The Pharmacy was closed for a short time this morning and after that was able to open for the pharmacy only.

It is believed that a glass panel in a door was broken to gain access.

It is also understood that a police officer remained on duty at the scene this morning while the premises was unattended.

A member of staff this morning brushed up the broken glass.

A notice was placed on a board outside the shop which read: “Due to a break-in overnight, we are currently unable to open as normal.

“We can process prescriptions, but can only take cash payments.

“Thank you for your understanding.”

A temporary repair to the door has been completed.

The store has this afternoon returned to provide a full service.

It is unsure what has been taken.
