FIRE crews from Torrington, Hatherleigh and Bideford attended a fire involving a static caravan in Beaford, near Winkleigh pm Tuesday, December 3.

On arrival the fire crews removed several gas cylinders from near the property and cooled them using a ground monitor.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said one cylinder was involved in the fire and a safety cordon was put in place to ensure crew safety.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet, a foam jet and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire and check for hotspots.

The cause of the fire was believed to be accidental. The caravan was completely destroyed by fire.

Crews left the scene at 2.21am on Wednesday, December 4.
