Henry Wreford of Crediton, celebrated his 90th birthday on Sunday, September 27. He was born in Bishopsteignton, moved to the Crediton area when he was a toddler and after living in Newton St Cyres for a short while, has lived in Crediton since his teenage years.
He worked on the railway all his working life and then worked part-time serving petrol for Moores Garage on Crediton high street.
Henry was married, to his late wife, Vera, for 65 years and after she died he moved in with his daughter and son-in-law Sheila and Dave Job at Tuckers Meadow.
As well as Sheila he has a son, Michael and daughter-in-law Jennifer. He also has two grandchildren and five great grandchildren who all popped in to see him at a family party, on Sunday.
Henry, who suffered a stroke some while ago still keeps an active interest in local affairs and is still a keen supporter of Crediton United Football.
