CREDITON Boniface Rotary Club and Crediton Town Band welcomed 400 people to its second “Proms at Downes”, which was held on the front lawn courtesy of owners Henry and Susan Parker on Saturday, July 6.

The audience were treated to exceptional music by Crediton Town Band, which concluded with Union flag waving to “Jerusalem”, “Rule Britannia” and “Land of Hope and Glory”.
Guest soloist was undergraduate cornet student studying with Richard Marshall at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, Megan Newbery.

Tedburn Community Choir were the delightful guest choir, singing many favourite songs from the steps in front of the house.
Those attending took chairs, some taking picnics and drinks, to sit and enjoy a very pleasant evening.
