THE rain held off on Sunday morning, December 15, as more than 200 people gathered in the town square as part of Crediton Congregational Church's joyful Christmas Celebration.

The morning began with hot chocolate and the opportunity to have photos taken with CCC's giant nativity painting, followed by a beautiful rendition of “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” from acapella group Seraph.

The service featured exploding confetti cannons, sparklers, star-shaped biscuits, and plenty of carols, all themed around “The Christmas Star”.

The crowd were invited to consider how we find our way in life, and how we can each bring light, life and joy into the world around us.

Children decorated and ate biscuits and created star-themed Christmas decorations to take away.

Associate Pastor Dave Poulson said: “We believe that Jesus is the light and joy of the world, so it makes sense that we can have a lot of fun whilst celebrating his birth. And it's fantastic to share it all with this many people.”
