1,100 tulip bulbs for Crediton
A PRESENTATION of 1100 tulip bulbs took place on Crediton Town Square when Dutchman Jaap Zeijl, a member of the Friendship Committee and his wife Tine presented three sacks of Bonifatus (Boniface) bulbs.
The bulbs were received on behalf of Crediton by Town Mayor Frank Letch, Lady Mayor Natalia Letch and Ted Staite of the Boniface Link.
Jaap gave a short speech where he explained: "The bulbs were to express love and the valuable bond that has formed between Crediton and Dokum, Holland."
He added: "When the bulbs grow next spring our bond will be shown to the world."
Frank Letch asked Jaap to take back sincere thanks to Dokum. He explained: "1100 is so meaningful because of the Boniface link with Dokum and Fulda." He added: "We have a lot to be thankful for."
